La Voix des femmes du Canada dans le jeu des relations internationales Un regard par le bas sur la guerre froide
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article retrieves archives from feminist and pacifist movement Voice of Women/ la Voix des femmes to document this Canadian organization’s interventions in the 1960s interplay of international relations. On one hand, this article questions the role of this organization in the implementation of an informal diplomacy network – which tried to brighten relations between Communists and Capitalists in the Cold War tensed context. On the other hand, this paper explains how some Third-World states enter these networks to draw Western countries’ attention on issues concerning decolonization and anti-imperialism. By doing so, this study contributes to an history from below of international relations, highlighting how actors marginalized from the diplomatic scene – women but also Global South countries – gained a political significance and redefined Cold War’s central issues.
