Abstract

This article presents an analysis of Claude-Henri Grignon’s (1894-1976) ideological thoughts and writings. Mostly recognized for his literary success, his polemic socio-political and sociocultural activity in the context of Quebec’s Quiet Revolution is far less know. From 1959 to the end of the 1960s, Grignon gave many conferences and published a copious amount of articles pertaining to diverse social issues. Unlike most, Grignon harboured a set of traditional values that opposed the political, social, and institutional reforms generated by the Quiet Revolution. Through Grignon’s, work, we hope to fill a gap in the historiography which has paid little attention to counter-revolutionary discourse in this period.
